Homeless children and others who enroll at an early learning center in Madison are getting a new playground, thanks to generous donations from the community.

MADISON (WKOW) — Attic Angels today unveiled their gift of a playground to children enrolled at The Playing Field early learning center in Madison.

Madison’s historic philanthropic Attic Angel Association turned 130 in 2019 and held a fundraiser all year long to build a playground that will benefit children who experience trauma and other challenges. With the help of the community and a generous couple who provided a large matching gift challenge, nearly $75,000 in donations was raised and presented just before Christmas to The Playing Field early learning center in Madison.

The Playing Field was featured by Wisconsin Public Television in their annual Get Up and Go broadcast on August 2nd. The Playing Field had a booth where children could make a pinwheel tool to assist them in practicing deep breathing. Our Executive Director, Abbi Kruse and Program Director, Michelle Henner were also interviewed by Sarah Jacobs for the live broadcast and had the chance to share more information about Conscious Discipline.
